Hello All, I'm a newbie to the site and excited about my Superformance Mk111 Cobra. It's currently at the shop in Irvine awaiting my decision ( and money ) for motor and transmission etc.
Here is my question to you all ... 98 % sure I am going with a Roush 427 motor... ( ? )
Now trying to decide between the SR and R motors
I had a very good conversation with Dennis at Roush a couple of days ago so I understand the " basic " differences... SR more " user friendly " torque at lower RPM and more " street / long distance " friendly to drive R more of a beast, torque at higher RPM and probably not the motor for long drives to Tahoe etc...
The SR is their top selling motor. Almost 2 to 1 over the R
That said, experience driving these different motors is the key factor, imho, so if anyone out there has owned or driven either please share your opinions / thoughts and comments
Thanks Steve

Hello, I am new to the site / club and waiting for my Superformance Cobra ( Mk111 ) to be completed. It's currently at the shop in Irvine waiting for my decision and funds to complete the motor and transmission Now, this is my question I am considering the Roush 427 motor However, would like experienced opinions re : the SR vs R 427 motors. Finally. I have spoken to Rousch and understand the basic differences... EG The SR a " more street / long distance drive friendly " motor with plenty of power and low rev torque And the R being a bit " rougher at idle, not as street or long distance drive friendly " with a higher rev torque curve.
All that is fine... However, actual driving experiences, on the street and or on a 3 hour cruise is what I am interested in hearing about
Appreciate your candid comments
Steve
