I had a 393W with about the same camshaft at 10.5:1 compression, using out of the box Dart Pro 1 195CC heads that runs very well. I didn't dyno that motor so I don't have any horsepower numbers.

Contact Tony Mamo of AFR heads, he will help you out or call Keith Kraft.

Tony is very popular on my cts-v forum for heads and throttle bodies.

He built the heads on my Vette with a stroked 402 Supercharged engine. Great set of heads, fully backs his product, and always takes time to talk to you at SEMA if you have any questions or concerns

I am thinking I will drive the car as is this year and maybe do the heads as a project for next Winter.

Buddy,
Although I do not have a Windsor based engine in my car. I have worked with the AFR head on many, For a 392 I would use their 205 heads, on 427 and greater the 225 heads would be my pick. The ports are raised and flow better, in my opinion - best band for the buck.

I have a 427 SBF. I use Edelbrock Victor jr. heads and intake. This was combined with a MSD Atomic EFI (throttlebody style, looks like a carb). Works great for me. I can drive the car at 1500 rpm and it will hit the redline with no problems at all. Camshaft is from Compcams, their Extreme Energy serie.
It is not just about heads. It the the complete setup that is important. Wrong combination and you end up with a car that drives like ****. Choose the right combination and the correct settings and your car will drive like a dream. That is why a good enginebuilder is so important.
