Interesting! I do wish we had a useful solution for a easy on/off top like a modern car...it's my only gripe with this machine...it's sooooo amazing as we all know but living in NJ it's very limiting with no roof or windows, etc.

Interesting! I do wish we had a useful solution for a easy on/off top like a modern car...it's my only gripe with this machine...it's sooooo amazing as we all know but living in NJ it's very limiting with no roof or windows, etc. The hard top is as primal as the rest of the car. Wind and water at speed are a given. However, it only adds to the experience for me. My wife has the modern car with the fancy water and wind tight power convertible top. I guess this is the difference between her and I. I would much rather drive my car in 40 degree whether with my top off or in the rain with a few leaks and wind noise. I have the soft top as well, but it has not been used. I would think the soft top with the side windows would work just as well on a short term basis as the hard top. I make this point, as I believe the hard top is much more expensive than the soft top. And, the soft top and side windows can fold up in the trunk. You are limited to 70 mph with a soft top. Which is at the upper limit for this type car in the rain. Yes, I did do a 360 in the middle of I-20 as I was coming home from NM. I quick down shift to 4th gear at around 45 mph resulted in a you tube moment for the folks driving behind me. She stopped spinning and I casually down shifted and went on down the road. Light cars, wide tires and raw HP is a bad combination for a wet road.

Yeah I've had my moments with the car as well!! I have the soft top and have never used it...just seems such a PITA! But I hate how little I drive this thing! It blew me away on the track by the way, it was so much more capable than I expected. Which is odd as it is based on a super successful racing platform!! I should be thinking race car first and foremost!
It was an absolute blast...if you guys haven't tried it yet you are letting yourself down.

I purchased 1359 in November of 2013. I flew out to Roswell, NM and drove her back to NC. What a great way to get to know your new Cobra. The hard top is off and I try to get in a few miles every day that it is above 40 degrees. We took a 200+ mile road trip two weeks ago to the NC mountains for my son's soccer game. What a great experience for my son and I to have on a gorgeous NC day. The photos below are from the previous Owner's add. My photos where to large to load. She is Titanium with Indigo Blue full stripes and Orange quarter strips. She was ordered this way from the factory by the original Owner. In the attached photos, the quarter stripes are red. The previous Owner placed red tape stripes over the painted orange stripes to match the red in the badge. The day after I got her home, she was on the stands getting fluid changes and the red tape stripes were removed. The Titanium, Indigo Blue makes for a beautiful color scheme. Jcam welcome! You have the same colors as me just reversed! Looks fantastic!

I do a couple events a year with my 911 and I fully intend to get the Cobra on the track this year. Do you run track tires?

New member and owner of SPF2985. I ordered it in 2010 to be built in S. Africa . Motor is a Roush 427 SR/TW with a Quick Fuel 750 dbl pumper. It has run flawlessly for 18000 miles, many of which could be called aggressive. Black is the color with titanium stripes. Pics will follow.

Second SPF car. First was #1416 which was owned from 2002-2006. Made the mistake of selling it and realized I could not live without a Cobra in the garage. Have owned 1867 since late 2009. Solid Titanium Keith Craft 427 TKO-600 3.31 rear gears

I don't own #1416 anymore. A gentleman down in Birmingham AL does. It was titanium with indigo blue stripes. It has an RDI Racing 392 and was a pleasure to own. Here is a picture of it: My current car is #1867 and is solid Titanium. It has a Keith Craft 427 stroker.

That one is gorgeous as well and my exact color combo reversed. Why did you sell and then rebuy. Which engine do you prefer?
