What did the 427SC air cleaner and valve cover look like from the factory? Where there different versions? Pics?

Buddy, the street roadsters generally came with dual carbs and small round air cleaners, one on each carb. Some pics also show the large oval air cleaner that fit over both carbs. The SC and Comp cars typically had a single carb surrounded by a tub, with a small air cleaner. The valve covers were typically the smooth polished finish. I say typically because these were not production cars. There were only 19 Comp and 31 SC cars, and it seems they were fitted out with what was available at the time they built a particular car. The general feeling people have is that the SC cars had 427 side oilers...but some had center oilers and some had 428s. The 427 in my Hi-Tech is pretty accurate, though the original would not have the sky blue paint inside the tub. Try the "Originality" topic on that other club forum for sources of pics and info. You can also Google CSX3xxx and look for pics of original cars. Aside from lack of documentation on the original builds, another difficulty in determining what is originally correct is that most of the 31 SCs left have had changes made over the years. Here's a couple examples of original engine compartments: Bill
