I bought my SPF chassis# 1586 for a little over a year ago with 2900 miles on it. Bought it from a person in California with the CA smog exemption. The previous owner put the incorrect MSD distributor in it which chewed up the distributor gear and cam gear. This caused us to pull the engine and then the fun began. The fellow completely mis represented the car and in simple words lied about everything. We completely rebuilt the car, new braided hoses every where, new MSD digital ignition system, new silicon suspension bushings, new heater box, new McLeod clutch/ pressure plate, realigned the roll bar mounting points, new hoses, many other small replacement parts, new Nossinger gauges, completely rewired the electrical system and last but not least a new fully polished Rousch 427 SR engine. I opted for the 427SR because I wanted a more street able car. It dyno'd at 525 hp and 530 ft pounds of torque. After a long period in the shop it is finally back on the road and fits the phrase of "Scary Fast".

Lou, Welcome to the site glad to have you here. Have you done the shock tower upgrade? Check out my thread on the RT suspension I just did and get some miles on that car!

Where's home? Weather here in Michigan hasn't been good enough but for one Sunday where I took a long drive. We live in Rocklin, California ( northern Cali). The weather today is going to be in the mid to upper 80's, not a cloud in the sky and no rain in the forecast for the next 2 months. Yep we are in a drought.

I read an interesting article that said California has plenty of water from snow and rain but the environmentalists have sued and caused the bulk of this water to be diverted to the ocean to help some fish population. And as is typical with these idiots it hasn't helped the fish but has hurt many people.

Hello, I'm a new owner of SPF 2339, had it all of 2 weeks now. This is my first visit to this forum and I look forward to picking up valuable tips as I get comfortable with the car. I have many questions. First issue is the parking brake. I've had it adjusted twice and it's either dragging or not holding at all. Doesn't seem like it should be so difficult. Is there a trick to adjusting it?

I am not sure which blue. It is not Guardsman blue, royal blue or Avis blue. The paperwork I have just states blue. I am a member of Second Strike and they list many MKIII's as blue without any specific type. The engine is rated at 550hp and 535 torque but I have not had it dyno'd. When I purchased the car, the wheels were fully polished and the tires were Dunlop Qualifier GT's. I purchased Trigo wheels with gray centers and Cooper Cobra tires a few months after I purchased the car. I then installed the Tredwear letters. The new wheels and Tredwear letters really changed the look of the car.

Awesome I love the Billboard look but the true Billboards are not DOT certified. Looks awesome! Where abouts do you live?
